Pushkar Shah : A Nepali Cycling-Ambassador

Pushkar Shah is a very famous Nepali cyclist. He started the world tour on two wheels on Nov 29, 1998 A.D. (B.S. Mangshir 13, 2055 respectively). He set to travel 150 countries within 11 years.
It was those days when the Maoist Communist Party had was on its first stage of waging civil war against the much corrupt ruling government and their system with all violent ways. Almost every day the newspapers and TV channels used to broadcast the news of battles and killings of tens of people. Pushkar came out with his way to spread the message of peace and to promote Nepal to the whole world.

As he says, he started the go with an incredibly little amount of NRs 100 equals to around USD 1.50. He declares in his website that he doesn’t have official sponsor, but have lots of people eager to donate for his peace world tour and organise his lodging and food on the way. In this way he is making his way through many kinds of difficulties and warmth of people met across his way.

His dreams are not over. He wants to climb Mt. Everest (8848 meter) situated in Nepal with all the flags of countries he would have visited by the end of his two wheeled travel.

According his site he has visited some 125 countries scaling more than 1,97,000 Kilometers. The countries that he visited are given below-
